Nine-year-old Mohamed from Al Jorn in Jabalia in the north of the Gaza Strip was the first child of his parents. He was clever and a diligent student. He liked reading and memorized parts of Quran. He also liked to fly kites. He liked electronic games and football. “He was distinct and mature, acting like older people,” said his father.
“The Israeli bombardment intensified in our area and we went to the ground floor to seek shelter. While Mohamed was standing next to the window, a piece of shrapnel hit him directly in the head and divided it into two parts and his brain was scattered all over the room, and some parts are still on the ceiling of the room,” said his father. When his father realized that Mohamed was dead, he tried to help his brothers. “We miss him so much, especially his mother, but we still see him in our dreams as if they are real,” his father added.
