Seventeen-year-old Amro from Block-B in Al Maghazi refugee camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip was a creative, independent and active boy. His hobby was repairing electrical appliances. His ambition was to invent long lasting UPS batteries that are used to support homes during the frequent electricity cuts. “He was very generous with his family,” said his mother Mona who is 55.
At 9:30 am, on 2 August 2014, when Omar and his family were having breakfast on the roof of their house, an Israeli drone directly struck the group with a missile. His body was scattered all over the rooftop. Omar died along with his cousin Mohamed.
