Location Rafah
Eleven-year-old Fares from Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip was a prudent and responsible child. His hobbies included football, swimming, and singing. He wanted to be a pilot because he liked airplanes. His family considered him as an adult, and treated him as one. He really liked that. “He had a seven-month old younger brother, who he used to carry around and spoil,” his father said.
On 25 July 2014, Fares was sitting on the street with his friends. An Israeli warplane missile targeted them without warning. Many people were killed and others were seriously injured, including Fares. He was taken to hospital. He died a few days later from his injuries.
