Seven-year-old Fatma from Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip was a pretty child. She was said to be wonderful. Her hobbies were drawing and writing. Her ambition was to be a doctor.

Fatima liked to go out for walks with her parents and her brothers. She used to help her mother around the house, despite her young age. “She was saving money to buy presents for her mother; she was particularly considering a gift for Mother’s Day,” her father said.

On 20 July 2014, just before sunset, the Abu Jamee’s three-story house was bombarded by missiles by Israeli forces. There was no prior warning given. “It was a real massacre; twenty-six people were killed. Three people were injured and survived,” her father added.
