13-year-old Mohamed Husam Ahmed Al Breem from Khan Younis was a happy little boy, always laughing and smiling. He spent most of his spare time playing with his brothers, especially with Omar, who was 16.

“Mohammed and Omar loved messing around together, singing and dancing and trying to get their mother to join in,” said his father. Mohammed kept colorful canary birds. He also liked flying kites.

Mohammed and Omar were two of the last victims of the Israeli military bombardment of the summer of 2014. On 26 August 2014, Omar and Mohammed were at their family's farm. Their father had told them not to leave the farm before 7pm, the time at which the truce with Israel was due to come into effect, but when they heard an explosion, they jumped on their motorbike and headed to the site of the attack to check the site and to help the wounded. While they were on the way, they were targeted by an Israeli drone. Both died instantly.
