Location Khan Younis
Twelve-year-old Mohammed from Khan Younis City in the South of the Gaza Strip was a calm, obedient, and kind child. He liked to joke with his mother and he liked to touch her hair and tell her that she had beautiful hair. He was a responsible child.
He liked to explore things and was very curious, so he liked to dismantle and rebuild toys. He also liked computer games and motorcycles. His mother promised to buy him a mobile phone. He liked to go with his father to the market. “His ambition was to be a university professor like his father,” said his mother.
On 1 August 2014, an Israeli drone fired a missile at the family’s house. The family members evacuated the home, afraid of another attack. Mohammed, his sisters, Yara, 8, and Nadeen, 16, left the house before their parents. An Israeli drone then attacked them directly while they were in the street in front of their house. Mohammed and his sisters were killed as well as his cousins Lujain, 4, Abdel Rahman, 8, and his aunt, Awatef, 31.
