Two-year-old Nada from the Al Sabrah neighborhood in Gaza City left her family with many beautiful memories. She liked food and sweets. Her nickname was "Big Show" because she was a bit chubby. She was a little jealous of her younger sister, and she could already say papa and mama. “The children were afraid of the sound of Israeli warplanes. They did not want to go to the bathroom alone. They needed someone to be there with them,” said her uncle.
At 2:00 am, on 29 July 2014 in the midst of a random shelling by Israeli forces, the families in Nada’s house moved down to the ground floor seeking shelter. A shell then struck the ground floor of the house, directly hitting Nada’s grandmother. She died immediately. The house erupted into flames and filled with suffocating smoke. The children sustained shrapnel injuries. Three people were killed, including Nada. Twelve other people sustained injuries in the attack.
