Location Khan Younis
Four-year-old Rahaf from Khan Younis was described as smart and keen. She had a twin brother and was attending kindergarten. Rahaf liked studying and writing and was a very sociable child. She used to play with her brothers and had many toys.
Rahaf had a fever and was with her family in her grandfather’s house when the Israeli ground invasion started. At 2:30 pm on Friday, 25 July 2014, a motorcycle in front of her grandfather's house was targetted by an Israeli missile. A piece of shrapnel hit Rahaf’s eye and she was taken to Al Naser Hospital. She was later transferred to the European Hospital. After that she was taken to a hospital in Egypt. From there, she was supposed to be sent to Germany for appropriate medical care. She died at 6:00am, before they had even left the hospital.
“Rahaf was the soul of our house, which is full of memories that are hard to forget,” said her mother.
