Sama from Block-7 in Al Bureij town in the middle of the Gaza Strip was a stubborn child. She always insisted on getting whatever she wanted. “The last thing I remember her doing was holding on to a glass of juice because she was determined to drink it by herself,” said her aunt.
At 12:30 pm on 29 July 2014, Sama went with her mother to visit her grandfather during Eid. Her grandfather’s house was bombarded by Israeli warplanes. The missiles struck the house without prior warning. Nineteen people were killed, including Sama who was 1-year-old. Her body was found scattered all over the area.
