“Waseem was excellent at school and at memorizing the Quran; he had memorized 18 chapters. He would fast certain days every month,” his mother said. He was said to be obedient and kind, and helpful to his sister. He was a very smiley young man. He liked reading and was a good speaker. He spent most of his time in the mosque.
His ambition was to be an engineer, which is what his mother wished for him.
Waseem was from Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip. He was killed at the age of fifteen along with his brothers and neighbors. They were killed in front of the house at 2:00 am while waiting for the ‘Al Fajr’ prayer. They were reciting the Quran. An Israeli missile targeted them. Everyone in the group was killed.
