Location Khan Younis
Wesam, the fifth boy among his siblings, was from Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip. He was said to be very enthusiastic about taking the Tawjihi high school exam in the next academic year. He liked computer games and was very obedient to his parents. “He was the spirit and soul of this house,” said his mother. He liked to eat cucumber and bananas.
On the day he was killed, Wesam got a haircut, took a bath, and then went to see his friends. While sitting with his friends, the group heard a missile explode that appeared to be meant for a motorcycle. When the motorcycle continued driving and passed by the boys, another missile struck, this time hitting the boys.
His father looked for him a long time before finally locating his son in the intensive care unit in the hospital. He was able to recognize Wesam although his condition was critical; he had lost one eye, one arm, and one leg. The next day, the family received a phone call that Wesam has died. He was seventeen years old.
