Three-year-old Yasmeen from Beit Lahia refugee camp in the north of the Gaza Strip was an active and smart child. She liked to play with her dolls. She was very enthusiastic about going to the kindergarten. "She was very close to me. The day she was killed, she asked me to dress her in a white dress (wedding dress), and I put some makeup on her face to ease her tension and fear,” her mother Suzan said. Suzan is 28.
On 19 July 2014, a neighboring house was bombarded. A wardrobe fell onto Yasmeen. Her head was seriously damaged. She bled heavily. She was taken to the hospital. After many attempts to save her life, she died of her wounds. "Yasmeen was killed wearing her white dress,” her mother.
