Seven-year-old Zaher Mahmoud Sa’ad Al Najjar from Khan Younis was a funny boy. He liked to sing and dance for his parents. He had fasted 15 days of Ramadan the year he was killed and he had already gotten the new clothes for the Eid holiday.
On 29 July 2014, Zaher’s father asked him and Zaher’s brother, Ayman, to go to the shops to pick up some bread. On the way there, they were targeted by a missile from an Israeli drone. Zaher was taken to the local hospital where he underwent an operation. He was then transferred to the European Hospital, which was considered to be better equipped. He died on the way there. His brother Ayman was injured and referred to Jerusalem. He is now paralyzed.
