9-year-old Fadi from Gaza was a funny boy. He liked to tell jokes. He helped his father with selling clothes in his shop. He liked riding motorcycles and he always held prayer beads. He was close to his cousin Rami. “Fadi’s mother once saw Fadi’s friends in the street and she said ‘I found Fadi!’,” said Fadi’s aunt.    

On 20 July 2014, during a heavy Israeli bombardment on Fadi’s neighborhood, Fadi’s family and neighbors decided to evacuate. Fadi and his family left the house together but in the chaos of the intensifying attacks which were caused by Israeli forces, Fadi, his 16-year-old brother Shadi, and his 11-year-old sister Ola, were separated from the rest of the family. They hid in a nearby house. When they thought the attacks had stopped, the three children left the house. Immediately upon leaving the house, they were targeted by Israeli forces. The 3 were killed instantly.
