Location Rafah
Mohamed was from Al Shaburah refugee camp in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip. He was a very joyful and funny child. He was also very well behaved, unlike his twin brother. He paid a lot of attention to his appearance, his looks were important to him. He liked to play football. When Mohamed was on his way home from kindergarten he would sing to his mother the songs he had learned. His mother wished to see him a doctor or an engineer.
On 2 August 2014, Israeli forces shelled a group of houses in Al Shaburah refugee camp in Rafah. The Eittah family home was destroyed with its inhabitants inside. Many people were killed including Mohamed. He was five years old when he died. “Anas, Mohamed’s twin brother, told his mother that he wanted ‘to die and play with my brothers in heaven’,” said their father.
